Coloring
An anodized, and to some extent also a hard anodized surface layer can be colored. Color and shade depend on many factors, such as the choice of alloy, color pigments and concentrations.
Ahlins has the best conditions and can offer a large selection of colors. As standard and in stock for anodized parts, black, red, blue and gold are always available. For hard anodizing, the standard color is black. In both cases, we can offer other colors.
Anodizing - In regular anodizing, we build layers in the range of 5–25µm
Hard anodizing - The layer thickness is usually 25–70 µm, which makes the treatment ideal for components that are exposed to abrasion, friction or harsh environments.
Passivation - Creates a thin, passivating layer that provides effective corrosion protection and excellent adhesion for subsequent painting, powder coating or bonding.
